 Relief and Volunteer Services

The CHEST Foundation offers two levels of awards that recognize and support the volunteer service of ACCP members worldwide though the Humanitarian Awards Program. Recognition Awards and Project Development Grants will be granted to nonprofit and nongovernmental health-related organizations that benefit from the volunteer commitment of ACCP members. When completing an application for a project that is not in the United States or Canada, documentation is required verifying that the project or service is a registered nonprofit or nongovernmental organization.

Funds awarded on both the $5,000 level (Recognition Awards) and $25,000 level (Project Development Grants) support volunteer service in existing projects and are not intended to support start-up projects. ACCP members who have been previous winners of a Humanitarian Award or Governors Community Service Award may apply for a 2008 award. However, ACCP members who have previously received two Humanitarian awards cannot apply for additional funds in 2008. Note that the award funds are paid directly to the institution/organization of the winning applicant.
