Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital - Hendersonville, North Carolina Their Story The Margaret R. Pardee Memorial Hospital began the year by choosing a name for their project that would reflect the mission of providing quality care and improving communication with family members. Thus, the keywords "caring" and "connection" created the unique project name: the Pardee ICU Caring Connection. Family members provide vital support to recovering patients but often feel stressed and left out regarding the treatment of their loved ones. Therefore, by including the family in the day-to-day recovery process, the Pardee ICU Caring Connection created an environment of comfort and support. The first year was devoted primarily to the renovation of the waiting room, conference area, and the construction of a family retreat suite, with two bedrooms, a seating area, kitchen, an a bath with handicap access. This suite was designed for family that would like to remain close to the hospital, due to the medical condition of their loved one.
