The CHEST Foundation has awarded more than $3.5 million to ACCP members to foster cutting-edge clinical research—research that can provide new treatment options for patients around the world. These research grants reflect the multidisciplinary nature of the ACCP. In 2009, The CHEST Foundation will continue to offer a variety of clinical research awards in the following areas: geriatric development, lung cancer, women’s health, and alpha1-antitrypsin (AAT) deficiency relating to COPD.
